How to Apply

Our application and enrollment process is quite simple.

Step 1: Contact the admissions office to request to be added to our mailing list. This ensures that you receive our admissions packet and invitations to school events.

Step 2: Contact our Director of Admissions to submit an application. The application includes biographical information, birth certificate, health form, current transcripts, and recommendation letters from English and mathematics teachers. International applicants must also complete the I-20 forms. Applications should be submitted as soon as possible and are considered on a space-available basis.

Please use the following checklist when completing the application package:
  • $500.00 Application Fee (US Currency or US Bank Account Only - may be paid by credit card)
  • Transcripts from current high school and, if applying to grade 9 or 10, from the last 2 years of middle school
  • Teacher Recommendation Forms (English and Mathematics)
  • Personal Statement (and Optional Personal Recommendation)
  • Official TOEFL iBT score from ETS (may be waived by the Director of Admissions)

Step 3: All students are required to interview with an admissions representative from Cambridge Prep. While an on-campus visit and interview is preferable, we will accommodate a video interview over the Internet (using Skype or WeChat) once the application is complete and received by the Admissions Office. Students will be contacted directly by the Admissions Office to set up the interview.

Step 4: Receive notification of the admissions decision. Decisions are made by the Admissions Committee usually within two weeks of receiving a completed application.

Step 6: Inform the admissions office of your decision to enroll at Cambridge Prep and complete the online enrollment contract with the required $1000 enrollment/registration fee. International students will receive an I-20 after submitting the enrollment contract with the required non-refundable enrollment/registration fee and tuition. Each family is also required to designate an adult living in the San Francisco Bay Area as a guardian for the student in the event of an emergency and to provide lodging during the school breaks.

After the student has been accepted and chooses to enroll at Cambridge Prep, the following is due immediately:
  • $1,000 enrollment/registration fee (US Currency or US Bank Account Only - may be paid by credit card)
  • Full tuition
  • Notarized Letters: Guardianship of Student and Guardian Acceptance (international students only)
  • Bank Statements (international students only)
  • Student Birth Certificate (Copy)
  • Student Passport (Copy)
  • Student Health Immunization Record (Copy)
  • Must be immunized for the following: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Tdap (Whooping Cough), Hib (Haemophilus influenza type B), Varicella (Chickenpox), TB Skin Test, Chest X-Ray (Only if the TB test is positive)
  • I-901 Port-of-Entry Fee & Receipt (international students only)
  • Enrollment Packet (e.g., emergency card, tuition agreement, etc.)

International students must be sure to complete all U.S. Consulate requirements and schedule a U.S. Consulate interview.

Note that all applications are considered on a space-available basis.

Cambridge Prep will only transfer I-20 documents to another high school with a legitimate I-20 program if the student plans to transfer before graduation.
